This material, highly unique and rare in its initial years of invention, was accidentally discovered by Dupont chemist, Roy Plunkett working with Freon gasses in 1938.

The residual powder that remained in the canister came to be known as PolyTetraFluoroEthylene (PTFE). to be registered and patented by Dupont as Teflon® PTFE resin.

No body new that this material earlier known as PTFE, would extensively be used today in the industrialized world in many applications for its special characteristics.

1. INTRODUCTION
PTFE thread seal tape is an ideal material for pipe fitting. With excellent insulation properties, low temperature, acid and alkali resistant features; it is widely used in sealing and locking the threads of water, air and oil conduits

TEFLON (PTFE) thread seal tape is used as pipe fitting in industrial and civil-construction, machinery, chemical and space navigation especially in drainage system.
